About Sandals South Coast
Sandals South Coast is home to some of the most spectacular overwater bungalows in the Caribbean. The property sits on Jamaica’s remote and largely undeveloped south coast near Whitehouse, far from the tourist activity of Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. The water here is exceptionally calm and shallow — ideal conditions for the glass-floor overwater villas that extend directly over the sea with private steps down into the water.
The surrounding area feels genuinely secluded. There are no cruise ship crowds, no busy town centers nearby. Guests who come to South Coast come specifically for the overwater experience and the privacy. This is one of the most dramatic settings in the entire Sandals collection, and after its Sandals 2.0 renovation it will debut as one of the brand’s most updated and elevated properties.
Overwater Bungalows
The overwater bungalows at South Coast feature glass floors that look directly into the Caribbean, private plunge pools on the deck, and ladder access directly into the sea. These are among the most sought-after accommodations in Jamaica. The calm, protected water on the south coast makes the overwater experience here more peaceful than overwater properties exposed to open ocean swells. Sandals 2.0 Renovation
South Coast is undergoing a comprehensive Sandals 2.0 renovation following the property closures in October 2025. The renovated South Coast will open November 18, 2026 as a significantly upgraded version of an already exceptional property.
