Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about booking your vacation with Superior Travel.
Why should I book with a travel agent instead of booking online myself?
Booking online may look simple, but it rarely accounts for the details that make or break a trip.
We do more than find prices. We research, compare, and coordinate every part of your vacation so your itinerary actually works together from start to finish. That includes identifying the best cruise ships for families, matching you with resorts that fit your travel style, and securing promotions and perks that are not always visible online.
If something goes wrong, whether it is flight delays, itinerary changes, or supplier issues, you are not left dealing with it alone. You have a dedicated advisor handling it for you.
Why choose Superior Travel?
Superior Travel is built on real travel experience, not just bookings.
With over a decade in the travel industry, LoToya LaPlace Hodge specializes in cruises, Disney travel, all-inclusive resorts, group vacations, and destination weddings. As a mom and frequent traveler, she understands what families actually need on vacation, not just what looks good on paper.
Clients receive personalized support before, during, and after travel, including check-ins, updates, and attention to detail that makes each trip smoother and more enjoyable.
Do I need a passport for a cruise?
It depends on your itinerary.
For closed-loop cruises departing and returning to the same U.S. port, U.S. citizens may travel with a birth certificate and government-issued photo ID. However, a passport is strongly recommended.
If a medical emergency or travel disruption occurs in a foreign port, a passport is required for international air travel back to the United States.
Some itineraries require a passport regardless of closed-loop status. For example, cruises visiting French territories such as Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, or Saint Barthelemy require a valid passport for all U.S. citizens. If your itinerary includes these destinations, you will not be permitted to board without one.
Do you book flights only?
Yes, with a service fee.
- $50 per ticket for standalone flight bookings
- No fee when flights are part of a full vacation package
If you are using airline miles or travel rewards, we recommend booking those directly. If you prefer full flight management, we can assist with complete booking and coordination.
Do you handle hotels and transfers?
Yes. We coordinate pre and post-trip hotels, airport transfers, and port transfers to ensure your entire journey is seamless from departure to return.
Can I get itemized pricing for packages?
In most cases, vacation packages are bundled by suppliers and are not itemized.
However, we always walk you through exactly what is included and help you understand the value of each component. If you want to compare packaged pricing versus booking separately, we can review that together.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 12 to 18 months in advance for cruises, Disney vacations, and group travel to secure the best pricing, availability, and promotions.
However, last-minute deals are sometimes available, and we can help you find those when your travel dates are closer.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Many cruise lines and resorts offer deposit-based booking with final payment due closer to travel dates.
We will review your payment schedule with you before booking so you always know what is due and when.
What types of trips do you specialize in?
We specialize in:
- Cruises (Royal Caribbean, Disney, Carnival, Norwegian, Virgin Voyages, and more)
- All-inclusive resorts (Sandals, Beaches, Cancun, Punta Cana, Jamaica)
- Disney World and Universal Orlando vacations
- Group travel
- Destination weddings, through our dedicated wedding brand, ParadiseWed
Can you help with group travel and destination weddings?
Yes. Group travel and destination weddings are a core part of our services.
We coordinate room blocks, group pricing, excursions, and logistics for all guests. For destination weddings, all planning is handled through our dedicated wedding brand, ParadiseWed, where we focus specifically on destination wedding travel, guest coordination, and resort wedding logistics.
We support couples and their guests throughout the entire planning process, even with short booking windows in some cases.
What happens if I need to cancel or change my trip?
Each supplier has its own cancellation and change policies, which we review with you before booking.
If changes are needed, we advocate on your behalf and guide you through the process. We strongly recommend travel insurance for all trips.
Do you charge a planning fee?
Yes. After your discovery call, a planning fee applies once we begin researching and building your personalized travel options.
This fee reflects the time, expertise, and detailed work involved in designing your trip, including destination research, pricing comparisons, itinerary planning, and coordination.
Planning fees vary based on trip type and complexity:
- Cruises: $50 per cabin
- All-Inclusive Resorts: $50 to $75 per room
- Disney and Universal Vacations: $100 per family
- Group Travel: Based on per-cabin or per-room structure, with adjustments depending on size and complexity
- Destination Weddings: Handled exclusively through our dedicated wedding brand, ParadiseWed, where pricing is structured separately based on wedding size and coordination level
All planning fees are non-refundable and apply to the planning and research process, regardless of booking outcome. This ensures dedicated time is reserved for your trip design and itinerary.
