Prima Class Ships
- Norwegian Prima — Launched August 2022. The original Prima class ship. Homeports include Miami and Southampton with Caribbean and European itineraries.
- Norwegian Viva — Launched August 2023. Sister ship to Prima. Sails from Barbados and European homeports.
Prima Plus Class Ships
The Prima Plus class is an evolution of the original Prima design, 10 percent larger and carrying approximately 3,571 guests at double occupancy versus 3,099 on Prima and Viva. The extra size creates noticeably more spacious common areas and a pool deck that functions as a true destination.
- Norwegian Aqua — Launched April 2025. The first Prima Plus class ship. Homeported at Port Canaveral for 7-night Caribbean sailings before repositioning to New York for Bermuda and Miami for Eastern Caribbean. Features the Aqua Slidecoaster (the world’s first hybrid roller coaster and waterslide), Glow Court digital sports complex, Ocean Boulevard (the largest 360-degree outdoor promenade Norwegian has ever built), a three-bedroom duplex suite in The Haven, and 17 dining options including new Thai restaurant Sukhothai.
- Norwegian Luna — Launched March 2026. The second Prima Plus class ship. Maiden voyage departed March 12, 2026. Luna builds on everything Aqua introduced with additional refinements and sails Caribbean and European itineraries. 156,300 gross tons, carrying 3,571 guests at double occupancy.
What Sets Prima and Prima Plus Apart
When Norwegian launched Prima in 2022 the goal was quality over quantity. Lower passenger density, more deck space per guest, and a premium feel closer to luxury cruising than mainstream. The racetrack spans three decks. The Haven on Prima class ships is the most expansive the brand has ever built. The Prima Plus ships build on every element of that design with additional square footage, the Slidecoaster, and venue concepts that have no equivalent anywhere in cruising.
The Haven
Every Prima and Prima Plus class ship carries The Haven, Norwegian’s ship-within-a-ship luxury enclave. Haven guests have a private pool area, dedicated restaurant, bar and lounge, priority embarkation and disembarkation, and 24-hour butler and concierge service. On Aqua and Luna, The Haven includes a three-bedroom duplex suite configuration.
