Epic Universe
Epic Universe opened May 22, 2025 as the first major new theme park in Orlando in 25 years. Five immersive worlds surround the central Celestial Park hub: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, and Celestial Park itself. With more than 50 experiences across five worlds, Epic Universe requires a dedicated full day and rewards guests who plan their priorities in advance.
Volcano Bay
Universal’s water park built around a 200-foot volcano. The TapuTapu wearable eliminates standing in line by notifying guests when it is their turn. A full day on its own.
Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood is a single-park experience in Los Angeles on an active production lot. Harry Potter, the Studio Tour, Super Nintendo World, Jurassic World, and Transformers are the highlights. A one-day park that pairs naturally with a broader Los Angeles trip.
Universal Kids Resort — Frisco, Texas
Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas is opening in 2026 as a 32-acre regional theme park designed specifically for families with younger children. This is not a full Universal resort on the scale of Orlando or Hollywood. It is a kids-focused destination park with seven themed lands: Shrek, SpongeBob SquarePants, Jurassic World, Minions, Trolls, Puss in Boots, and a seventh themed area rounding out the lineup. An on-site hotel with 300 rooms is part of the development. Universal Kids Resort is ideal for families in the Dallas-Fort Worth area looking for a dedicated kids’ park experience without traveling to a major resort destination.
On-Site Hotels at Universal Orlando
On-site guests receive Early Park Admission to all four parks. Premier hotel guests receive Unlimited Express Pass for their full stay, eliminating standby queues at most major attractions. At peak dates this saves a family of four several hundred dollars per day versus purchasing Express Passes separately.
Premier (Unlimited Express Pass included): Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Loews Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort.
Preferred (Early Park Admission included): Universal Stella Nova Resort, Universal Terra Luna Resort (both opened May 2025 adjacent to Epic Universe), Sapphire Falls Resort.

Express Pass: Is It Worth It?
Unlike Disney’s Lightning Lane which requires timed reservations and app management, Universal Express Pass is simple: walk to the Express lane and board. At peak dates it can turn a 90-minute standby wait into under 10 minutes. Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World are less than 20 minutes apart.
